May 10th LLANDUDNO TOURN. .

Wrexham under 9`s once again Wrexham found themselves in a very hard group playing four games.
First game Nant Conwy - Wrexham lost 4-0 a good performmance but Wrexham not able to brake
through the Nant defence.
Second game Pwllheli - a hard game with some tough tackling Wrexham drawing 1-1 with a try from Rhys Pomeroy.
Third game Denbigh, Wrexham won 3-1 with tries for Rhys Pomeroy (2) and Sam Rogers.
Last game Rhyl - Wrexham won 2-0 with tries for Sam Rogers and man of the tournament William Mills. An unlucky Wrexham missing out on the finals by one try on a count back.

Mar 8th RUTHIN (H) (D) 2 - 2

(L) 4 - 2

These were the hardest two games of the season for the u9`s but they stood up well to the task drawing the first game 2-2 tries coming from Sam Rogers and Rhys Pomeroy who were both contenders for man of the match, also some great runs from Alex Carter and support from William Faragher.
The second was another close game with Ruthin just edging it 4 - 2  Wrexham's tries coming from Joe Parry and Rhys Pomeroy. The man of the match was Will Smith who was ubiquitous in both games with some great try saving tackles.

Feb 15th Rhyl (A) (W) 3 - 1

(D) 3 - 3

Wrexham dominated the first game with continual pressure pushing Rhyl into their own half with some excellent tackling from Alex Carter and Rhys Pomeroy. Tries came from Will Smith and Sam Rogers (2), who was awarded the man of match.
The second game Rhyl came back alot stronger scoring  a try every  time Wrexham went ahead. The game ended in a 3-3 draw with Wrexhams tries coming from Sam Rogers, Rhys Pomeroy and Joe Parry.

Feb 1st Oswestry (H) (W) 5 - 1

(D) 2 - 2

The games were played on a bitterly cold morning, to make things worse the first game was delayed 15 minutes because Iain forgot the kit
Wrexham won the first game 5-1 wtih tries coming from William Hanson, Joe Davies, Sam Rogers, Mathew Jones and Rhys Edmonds - Jones
The second game was a lot tighter with Oswestry holding Wrexham to a  2-2 draw with tries coming from William Hanson and Mathew Jones who had an excellent game which earned him the man of the match award.

Jan 18th Ellesmere Port (A)

Flint (A)

(W) 5 - 0

Another successfull weekend for Wrexham under 9's - this time they were away to Ellesmere Port and Flint, at Ellesmere Port.The ffirst game against Ellesmere Port was a hard battle made even harder by some very muddy conditions.  At one stage Rhys Pomeroy loosing his boots in the mud at the far side of the pitch!!  Wrexham won this game by four tries to two, scorers were William Hanson, Sam Rogers, James Sandford and Rhys Edmunds-Jones.

The second game was against Flint with Wrexham coming out on top by five tries to nil - scorers were Rhys Pomeroy (3), Joe Parry,  William Hanson.  Man of the match this week was William Hanson, with some excellent work - his best game of the season so far. 

Dec 14th Oswestry (A) (W) 6 - 0

(W) 8 - 0

Wrexham won the first game 6-0 with tries for Joe Davies, Will Smith (2), Rhys Pomeroy (2) and 1 for man of the match Alex Carter.
In the second game Wrexham secured an 8-0 victory with tries for William Hanson, James Sanford and 3 tries apiece for Will Smith and Rhys Pomeroy.

Dec 7th Caldy Tigers (A)

Ellesmere P (A)

(W) 8 - 0

(L) 4 - 1

(W) 3 - 2

Wrexham u9s had very busy morning playing 3 different Caldy teams and 1 from Elsmere Port
Wrexham won their fisrt game against Caldy 'Tigers' 8 - 0, with tries for Sam Rogers, Rhys Pomeroy 2 and 5 for Will Smith.
Wrexham lost 4 - 1 in next game against Caldy 'Lions' despite some great defensive work.   Rhys Pomeroy scoring the only try for Wrexham.
The third game against Caldy 'Leopards' was won by  Wrexham  3-2 with all Wrexham’s tries coming from Rhys Pomeroy and some excellent work and big hits coming from 
man of the match Tom Jenkins.
The last game was Elsmere port another physical encounter with Wrexham winning by 2 tries 1 Scores coming from Rhys Pomeroy and Will Smith.
Wrexham had a great day playing their best rugby of the season.

Nov 22nd Llandudno (A)

 

Ruthin (A)

(W) 10 - 4

Wrexham under 9s were away at Llandudno where they also faced Ruthin.

Wrexham lost 4 - 0 to a bigger and stronger Ruthin side in some very wet and cold conditions. They battled hard but could not find a break through letting in 2 tries in each half.

Wrexham won 10 - 4 with tries coming from Rhys Pomeroy 5, William Hanson, Joe Parry, Sam Rogers  Will Smith(2) who earned  the man of the match award with some excellent defensive.

Nov 9th Colwyn Bay (A) (W)  8 - 0

(W)  12 - 0

Wrexham played two games against Colwyn bay in the first game Wrexham won 8-0 with trys from Will Smith, Alex Carter, Joe Davies, Joe Parry, William Wanson Tom Jenkins and Rhys Pomeroy (2).
In the second game Wrexham won 12-0 Wrexham played some good attacking rugby wtih excellent passing and tackling especially from man of the match Rhys Edmunds-Jones
tries came from Rhys Pomeroy (3), Joe Parry (2), Alex Carter (2), Joe Davies, Will Smith, Tom Jenkins, James Sandford, and Sam Rogers

Nov 2nd Ellesmere Port (H)

Wrexham played host to Ellesmere port and Flint this weekend.
They lost  to Ellesmere Port by 3 tries - 1 with Rhys Pomeroy scoring for Wrexham.   In a physical game Wrexham stood up well to the challenge of a big stong Ellesmere side and were unlucky to lose.

Wrexham were far to strong for Flint in their next game winning by 11- 0. Tries were scored by Alex Carter, Joe Parry, Tom Jenkins, Will Smith, Rhys Pomeroy (3) and Joe Davies (4).

In another physical game, Wrexham lost their return match  against Ellesmere Port 2 - 0. There were plenty of fireworks from man of the match Joe Davies but Ellesmere managed   a try in each half even though whole Wrexham team defended well.

Oct 19th Mold Tourn .

Wrexham U9s gained their first win of the season whist playing in the Mold tournament on Sunday. They beat Llandudno by 7-2 and only just lost by one try to Ruthin, Nant Conwy and Ellesmere Port. It was a very good team performance but man of the tournament was Rhys Pomeroy with some excellent tackling and hard work.

Oct 5th RHYL (H) (D)  5 - 5

(L)  6 - 4

Both games were very close with Wrexham moving up a level in the contact area with some excelent tackleing from Joe Parry and man of the match Nile Hillman. In the first game Wrexham drew 5-5 with tries from Will Smith, Alex Carter, Joe Parry and two for William Hanson. Wrexham lost the second game by 6 tries to 4  with  William Hanson, Jordan Prince and Will Smith (2) his second coming after running the full length of the pitch before touching down.

Sept 20th Mold (H) D (3-3)

L (5-2)

In the first game Wrexham drew 3-3 with tries coming from William Hanson and Will Smith (2).
Wrexham lost the 2nd game 5-2 with tries ffrom Will Smith and Man of the Match Joe Parry.
